Many musicians on tour are now looking for opportunities to play gigs in the settings of private homes. This allows musicians connect with existing and new audiences in a fresh and intimate way that cannot be found in larger commercial venues. The establishment of and ongoing support for a Three Sisters counties’ network of home gig venues would greatly facilitate the growth of the home gig movement. I have already hosted some fantastic gigs at home, and I’m sure other homeowners in the Three Sisters Counties have done likewise. The Home Gig Network model could also be mirrored in Rijeka and its hinterland, if it doesn’t already exist there. This could encourage Croatian musicians to play in Ireland, and vica versa.
